18th Stuttgart International Symposium successfully completed!
After two event days with about 900 participants and over 100 specialized presentations, the 18th Stuttgart International Symposium is successfully completed.
At the first day, Prof. Dr. Michael Bargende (Chairman of the Board FKFS) opened the 18th Stuttgart International Symposium ceremoniously. Prof. Dr. Thomas Graf, Vice Rector for Knowledge and Technology Transfer of the University of Stuttgart, held the opening address. The inauguration was followed by the first keynote of Dr. Rolf Bulander, Member of the Board of Management, Robert Bosch GmbH and Chairman of the Business Sector Mobility Solutions. He talked about the topic "Start-up culture in a multi-national Group - A contradiction?". In sessions running in six parallel strands, experts from the industry and the scientific community presented their latest findings about specific topics. In the second keynote of the day Masanori Sugiyama, Executive General Manager der Toyota Motor Corporation spoke about the topic "The Dirction of Future Powertrain toward the Electric Mobility Era". The crowning completion of the first day was the social evening event in the “Alte Stuttgarter Reithalle”.
Also at the second day of the symposium, the wide range of presentations and the parallel technical exhibition offered interesting insights to the participants. Highly appreciated was especially the keynote by Dr. Stefan Wolf, Chairman/CEO of the Management Board of ElringKlinger AG about the topic “Where next for the automotive industry – Will we all be “Going Electric” soon?”.
The symposium closed with a further highlight: a plenary discussion with the topic “The contribution of start-ups for the future of the automotive industry”. Participants of the discussion, moderated by Johannes Winterhagen, Redaktionsbüro delta eta were:

After the discussion, the keynote of Minister Dr. Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut followed. The event has been completed with the closing remarks of Prof. Dr. Jochen Wiedemann, Board of Directors FKFS, Professor of Automotive Engineering IVK, University of Stuttgart.
