Background

The School of Automotive Studies at Tongji University and the Research Institute of Automotive Engineering and Vehicle Engines Stuttgart - FKFS - have had an intensive scientific exchange for many years. Since entering into a master cooperation agreement in 2008, the existing partnership agreement between Tonji University and the University of Stuttgart has been extended. The cooperation between the research facilities at the School of Automotive Studies at Tongji University and the FKFS has been contractually formalized.

The cooperation extends to the fields of research and development, as well as training and further education. Alongside strategic cooperation and mutual technical research and development projects, common events are also planned.

Therefore, since 2016, the School of Automotive Studies at Tongji University and the FKFS, in cooperation with the University of Stuttgart, are annually organizing the first Shanghai-Stuttgart-Symposium, "Automotive and Powertrain Technology".
